XMind 2025 v25.01.01061 + crack
XMind is an open source tool for creating mind maps, a kind of diagram used to represent and relate different aspects of an idea or task to be carried out. This makes it easier to visualize the “problem” or memorize some content, such as grammar rules or the rules of a particular sport or game.
Of course, you only need pen and paper to build a mind map, but with the help of software it's much easier to edit the different elements that make it up. What's more, XMind will also make it easier to share the map with other people, even making it possible to export the work to popular formats such as PDF, Word and PowerPoint.
By default, a central box will be available in the center of the screen when you run the software for the first time. It is from here that ideas should be developed. To do this, there are a number of tools and resources worth describing.
Creating a mind map
As we said, all the ideas in the map must be related to a central topic. From there, you can add new boxes representing subtopics of the same subject. These elements can be created in different ways, but the main ones are:
- select the “parent topic” and then click on the “Insert a subtopic” button;
- double-clicking on a vacant space in the diagram to create a floating topic which can then be linked to an existing element; and use the arrow keys to navigate between elements and press Tab to create a subtopic.
Customizing elements
- Every element in the mind map can be customized in your own way. To do this, simply click on it with the right mouse button and choose from the numerous options that open up. The most prominent options include changing the structure of topics and subtopics (“Structures”), which make it possible to organize them in the form of a “fishbone”, organizational charts, trees, logic diagrams and spreadsheets.
- You can also add markers to these boxes to highlight them in some way. A number of smileys are available, ranging from smiley faces to angry ones, ideal for expressing your opinion on a topic. Other very useful subcategories of bookmarks are “Priority” and “Task Complete”, with icons that can help represent the official status of a given task.
- The right mouse button also gives access to the option of inserting hidden notes on a given topic (“Notes”) and labels that can serve as reminders (“Labels”). If necessary, the “Hyperlink” item allows you to reference an element to a file or web page.
Advanced settings
The software preferences window is available from the Edit > Preferences menu. Here you can adjust the general behavior of the program, such as the mind map to be opened together with the software (“When XMind starts”), the time interval for automatically saving the project (“Automatically save all workbooks every”) and the available shortcut keys, which can be changed from the “Keys” tab.
The “Mind Map” section offers options that can be adjusted for the map itself, such as the language of the spell checker and whether topic links should be opened via the internal browser in XMind or the system's default browser.
And if you think your mind map is too simple, try one of the six themes available in the software. To do this, go to the “View” menu and choose the “Themes” option. Then just double-click on one of them and the whole diagram will be transformed.
