Winamp is one of the most popular multimedia players on the Internet.  Its simplicity and lightness have made many users choose it when it comes to listening to their music and watching their movies on the computer.

However, time has passed and new features have been added to all players, making them more complete.  However, these new features also made them more robust and heavy, which slowed down the computer and made the interface confusing.

Against this trend, Winamp has remained true to its origins.  Even though several new features are added with each new version, it's still basically the same great player it was years ago.

Without the weight of age

• Even a few years down the line, Winamp still retains the same features that have made it one of the leaders in the multimedia player business.  Its look is still modern, but it has some improvements over previous versions.
• All the content is clearly divided across the screen, making each function easy to locate and access.  Some things remain in the classic way, such as the essence of the player, with its buttons and information about each track.  The playlist remains unchanged, which shows that the program's developers have a certain respect for long-time users.
• However, to make music management more organized, an additional screen has been inserted at the bottom of the application. Through this new area, you have full access and control of your files, as well as other functionalities.
• Through its access tabs, the user has control over some very useful features.  In “Media Library”, for example, you can manage the music and videos on your computer without having to leave the program.
• The “everything can be done through the player” concept adopted by Winamp goes far beyond simply finding your multimedia files on your PC.  One of the great new features of this new version of the application is that, within the same tab, you can obtain various information about the track.
• By selecting the “Playing Now” option, the program displays the biography of the artist in question, as well as photos, videos and news. Other songs are also available and played online.  If you want, you can buy them directly from the browser, just like downloading ringtones or checking out the lyrics.

No switching screens

• If Winamp was already known for its easy to change visuals, what about the possibility of acquiring new skins without having to leave the program?  As mentioned earlier, now you don't have to leave your player for anything.
• With the addition of a browser to the application, any function that requires accessing a web page is done within Winamp itself.  The “Browser” tab perfectly reproduces a program of this type and is able to connect to any page without any problems.
• This makes the program much more accessible.  Downloading skins and add-ons, for example, has become much simpler, as you can do everything without leaving the player.

Compatibility with other players

• To attract users of other multimedia players, Winamp has added a feature that puts an end to the “all my music is organized in another player” excuse.
• You can now import your entire iTunes library straight into Winamp without any complications.  So you can migrate from one program to another without feeling like you've left something behind.

Easy control

• For those of you who use Windows 7 and missed the simplified control of music via the Taskbar, the wait is over.  As with Windows Media Player 12, you can now pause, fast-forward or rewind tracks without having to access the program window.  By resting the mouse on the task, the small thumbnail is displayed and with it the shortcuts to access the songs.

My opinion

• Winamp Full was and still is one of the best programs for listening to music and watching videos.  With a simple interface that hasn't changed much over the years, it retains the same features that made it so popular, but it doesn't give up any new features.
• You can do almost everything without leaving the player itself - that's the main highlight.  You can buy music (not anymore), download add-ons and skins right from the program.
• What's more, thanks to the division into tabs, everything is very organized and easily accessible.  Such modeling of the interface makes it much more objective and dynamic, and the user does not have to spend time searching for each function.

Winamp is essentially one of the only legendary programs that has proven itself not only over time but also through audience recognition, so don't be shy and feel free to download it in anticipation of enjoying high-quality sound.
