VLC Media Player 3.0.21 + Portable
I have always been a fan of quality applications and VLC is a real godsend for me. I have been using it for many years now and I can say with certainty that it really helps in any situation. For example, a couple of years ago I had a broken player in my old laptop and I launched VLC Media Player - everything worked without any problems at all and additional settings, I was really surprised that where many alternatives refused to work, this one showed a decent result. I like that the software supports almost any format, from the old MPEG and DivX to the new MKV or even some exotic formats that even third-party software utilities can not always recognise.
- What's really cool is that you don't need to download any codecs, I forgot when I did it last time, I mean searching for codecs on the Internet and installing them. It's really great for those who like minimalism in settings and don't want to mess around.
- I'm especially happy to use the player for streaming over different protocols, be it HTTP, FTP, UDP or RTP. I've copied URLs from YouTube several times and enjoyed watching my favourite videos, and immediately used the built-in screenshot tools to save cool moments from the video and the quality could get up to 4K and there were no problems with it, only the monitor needs to be appropriate. VLC supports iptv and can show TV channels for free, and there are no problems with settings at all, you can turn on advanced options, add filters and effects. Personally, I like to experiment with video effects.
- Another plus is automatic subtitle support and the ability to switch audio tracks. If suddenly there are several languages in the film, I can switch. VLC has always been reliable, lightweight and stable. When I work in a virtual machine or on my old hardware, it doesn't eat up resources like other heavy players, it's lightweight and has a portable version, no installation required, supports many languages and all for free.
All in all, I really liked the programme, so let's move on to the conclusions, which are self-evident. VLC Media Player is freedom of choice, convenience and stability in one programme, the player can boast not only simplicity in work, but also a mass of fine adjustments. To summarise, VLC is my universal multimedia player, which is always on the lookout for convenience.
